Emergency luminaires according to VDE 0100-718, EN 50172

The use of an emergency lighting is prescribed for different fields of application (e.g. place of work or place of assembly) by the legislator.

Either at the work station or in hotels or during shopping in the plaza or in terminals on airports and railway stations.

Emergency luminaires are luminaires which are produced with an own power source as single battery luminaire or with an external power source as group battery luminaire or as central battery luminaire.

We differentiate the terms emergency luminaires and escape route luminaires which are used for marking the escape and rescue route. And safety luminaires as well which are used for the illumination of rescue routes and for the avoidance of panic.

Escape route luminaires and saftey luminaires set basically in permanent circuit.

During the construction the Euro-Norm "EN 60598-2-22" and the lighting engineering standards according to DIN 4844 und DIN EN 1838 must be observed.

Other standards obtain in the area of safety marking.
Especially the precepts and the standards of the professional association BGV A8 and BGR 216 as well as the workplace directive with its guidelines have to be underlined.
